Tai'an maintains steady economic development

The Tai'an municipal bureau of statistics released data on the economic performance of Tai'an in 2024 on Feb 6. 

According to the unified accounting of gross regional product, in 2024, the city achieved a gross regional product of 362.21 billion yuan ($49.71 billion), calculated at constant prices, an increase of 5.8 percent over the previous year.

The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Tai'an increased by 8.5 percent compared to the previous year, with growth remaining stable.

The sown area of grains in the city was 374,700 hectares, with a grain yield per unit area of 7,093.88 kilograms per hectare and a total grain output of 2.66 million metric tons, achieving comprehensive growth.

From January to November, 2024, the operating income of service enterprises above designated size in the city reached 33.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3 percent.

Total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 137.64 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0 percent over the previous year.

The city's imports and exports were valued at 54.10 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2 percent over the previous year. Exports were valued at 48.23 billion yuan, an increase of 22.6 percent.

The city is also actively developing new productive forces. In 2024, the added value of the city’s high-tech manufacturing industries above designated size increased by 19.1 percent over the previous year.
