Shanghai's Pudong Airport resumes online car-hailing operations
Online car-hailing operations in Shanghai's Pudong Airport area resumed on Feb 4 after the Shanghai Road Transport Administration banned the service on Jan 29.
Passengers can reserve cars in the airport area through various online car-hailing platforms from Feb 4, announced the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission on the same day.
The decision was made based on the suggestions of residents and passengers, said the commission.
All online ride-hailing platforms shall standardize their operations, strengthen driver management, and comply with the transportation organization arrangements of the airport, the commission added.
This year the Spring Festival travel rush started on Jan 26 and will continue through March 5.
Large passenger flow is expected at major transportation hubs, including the Pudong Airport and the Hongqiao transportation hub, which consists of both the Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station.
The Hongqiao hub provides one-hour free parking service for online car-hailing throughout the day.
