Shanxi Financial History and Culture Museum opens

The Shanxi Financial History and Culture Museum officially opened on Nov 19, accompanied by the unveiling of the Shanxi Financial Culture Education Demonstration Site. The event took place at the former Shanxi Bank site on Gulou Street in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province.

The museum is a collaborative effort by the Financial Work Committee of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, the People's Bank of China Shanxi Branch, Shanxi Bank, and the Jinshang Museum. As a branch of the Jinshang Museum, visitors can book free tickets through its ticketing platform.

In his opening speech, Gao Jiliang, chairman of Shanxi Bank, hoped visitors would gain insights into their financial predecessors' pioneering spirit and determination. He emphasized the importance of understanding the long-standing history of Shanxi's financial sector and profound merchant culture.

Zhang Wenqing, director of the Jinshang Museum, highlighted that the Shanxi Financial History and Culture Museum aims to be a major educational institution. The museum will delve into the essence and value of Shanxi's financial culture and illustrate the historical evolution and achievements of its financial industry.

The museum features five exhibition areas: "Origins of Shanxi Finance", "Shanxi Finance in the Era of the Republic of China", "Red Shanxi Finance", "Contemporary Shanxi Finance", and "Shanxi Finance in the New Era". These sections trace the origins, development, and transformations of Shanxi's financial industry and offer valuable perspectives on its past, present, and future.
