The inaugural Shanxi Innovation-Driven Development Conference and the 2024 Shanxi Association for Science and Technology (SXAST) Annual Meeting were held on Nov 20 in Taiyuan city, North China's Shanxi province.

The conference featured various activities, including academic exchanges, technological services, youth talent development, and science popularization. These activities were designed to address Shanxi and Taiyuan's industrial development needs, promote the distribution of scientific resources, and foster collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions.

Four esteemed academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering were specially invited to deliver keynote speeches. On the same day, SXAST signed strategic cooperation agreements with five national societies, including the China Coal Society, to drive innovation and development.

Focusing on Taiyuan's industrial development needs, the conference will launch the "A Hundred PhD Talents Enter A Hundred Enterprises" initiative. This initiative aims to attract young PhD graduates from within and outside the province to provide technological services to enterprises.

The Shanxi SXAST Annual Meeting has been upgraded to the Shanxi Innovation-Driven Development Conference since this year, which will create a platform supporting innovation-driven development and integrating technology and the economy.

This event will emphasize the integration of technology and industry, showcase research achievements, expand cooperation opportunities, promote enterprise innovation, and gather scientific resources and SXAST expertise.
