North China's Shanxi province's three No 1 tourist highways have been listed in the Top 10 Projects for the 2024 National Major Highway Engineering News and Publicity.

This selection event, organized by China Communications News and the China Communications Press Association, involved project submissions, expert evaluations, and public displays. It culminated in the selection of 40 standout projects.

Shanxi's three No 1 tourist highways – the Yellow River, the Great Wall, and Taihang – span 13,000 kilometers and form a comprehensive network connecting cities, scenic spots, and rural areas.

Since 2018, Shanxi has held 11 news conferences about the construction of the three highways. These conferences inform the public about the progress and interim results of the projects and effectively address concerns and expectations.

In April 2024, the Department of Transportation of Shanxi Province and seven other departments issued the "Promotion Plan for the Yellow River, Great Wall, and Taihang No 1 Tourist Highways", scheduling 50 promotional activities for the year. Over 200 media outlets have reported on the three No 1 tourist highways so far.
