Updated: 2025-02-21
In 2025, North China's Shanxi province plans to prioritize agricultural technological innovation and rural reform to increase agricultural efficiency, rural vitality, and farmers' incomes.
The province will ensure national food security by implementing projects to increase grain yields per unit area. To strengthen the foundation of food security, measures such as promoting integrated organic dry farming technologies and enhancing farmland quality will also be implemented.
This year, Shanxi will emphasize enhancing rural industrial development through projects boosting key industries. To cultivate influential "industrial chain-leading" and top enterprises, policies supporting the development of leading agricultural industrialization enterprises and subsidies for equipment purchases by newly registered agricultural product processing enterprises will be implemented.
There will also be a greater emphasis on village planning and design, with initiatives such as sending urban planners to rural areas to promote the construction of beautiful villages and enhance the living environment. Over 300 high-quality demonstration villages and 2,500 upgraded villages will be added this year.
Shanxi will make solid progress in key agricultural technologies, utilize enterprises' leading roles in innovation, continue promoting seed industry revitalization, and enhance agricultural technology application.
Through policy incentives, job creation, and industrial development, Shanxi aims to continuously expand channels to increase farmers' incomes. Local governments are encouraged to promote work relief, involving local farmers in nearby construction projects to boost their incomes.
