The Chinese Embassy in Iceland recently sent a letter of appreciation to the Shanxi Provincial Government, expressing heartfelt thanks for the cultural exchange performances by the Shanxi art group.

From Jan 21 to 25, an 18-member Shanxi art group visited Iceland, delivering spectacular performances to the Icelandic community and Chinese expatriates. These significantly enhanced Sino-Icelandic cultural exchanges and enthusiastically celebrated the Chinese New Year.

On Jan 24, the Embassy hosted the 2025 "Happy Spring Festival" Reception in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital. The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong and his spouse, the People's Party leader Inga Sæland, foreign diplomats in Iceland, and approximately 700 Chinese expats and students.

The art group performed drum dances, instrumental solos, acrobatics, Shanxi folk songs, and Icelandic songs. Their performances showcased Shanxi's rich cultural heritage and the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Ambassador He Rulong emphasized China's commitment to fostering stable and long-term relations with Iceland and working together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Inga Sæland praised the two countries' cultural and artistic exchanges. She hoped such cultural interactions and student exchanges would strengthen cultural ties, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and contribute to a harmonious international society.
