The five-episode international documentary series, Tales of Guan Yu, premiered on Dec 22. It traces Guan Yu's evolution from a historical figure into a revered icon and delves into the core values of loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, and courage that he embodies, vividly showcasing the spiritual essence of Chinese civilization.

The fifth episode, "Light of Culture" (Wenhua Zhiguang), explores the Guan Yu Temple on Mount Qomolangma, which has stood for centuries on the roof of the world. Born from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) army's war against the Gorkha, the temple honors both the martial deity Guan Yu and the Tibetan God of War Gesar. Featuring merged Han-Tibetan architectural styles, the temple embodies faith in loyalty and righteousness while bearing witness to the deep-rooted cultural integration of Han and Tibetan cultures, leaving a unique cultural imprint on the snowy plateau.
