The hospital's main health care functions are as follows: Guiding the technical service network construction of maternal and child health and family planning at county and village levels; organizing training of grass-roots technical personnel and providing technical guidance; providing perinatal health care, women's health care, child health care and other maternal and child health services for women and children in the city; performing health management of day-care providers and children; providing family planning education, technical services, eugenics guidance, drugs and tools distribution, consulting services, follow-up services, reproductive health care, personnel training, and other functions. The hospital also carries out major public health services for women and children, pre-conception eugenic health checks, and comprehensive prevention and treatment of birth defects.

The new hospital building of the center, with a floor area of 8,400 square meters, a beautiful environment, complete hardware, and well set up departments is now in use. There are more than 20 departments for, among other specialties, gynaecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, medical technology, health care and family planning.
