The Yangquan Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute was founded at Yangquan Vocational and Technical College in Yangquan city on Dec 6, according to officials.

The institute was jointly established by the Yangquan science and technology bureau, Yangquan Vocational and Technical College, the Shanxi Institute of Technology, and Yangquan Teachers College. 

It will carry out research, information communications, talent cultivation and perform technical services. By so doing, it will help promote partnerships between government departments, schools and companies and further the technological innovation and entrepreneurship of the city, officials said.

More than 150 people, including representatives of the Yangquan science and technology bureau, high-tech companies and a technology incubation alliance in the city, attended the founding ceremony of the institute.

A training session on tech innovation policies was held afterwards, to explain national and provincial policies about supporting companies to carry out tech innovation.
