Yangquan Coal Industry Group's new Urban Medical Group -- the first medical group in Yangquan, the city in the east of Shanxi province -- was recently founded, according to local officials. 

Initiated by Yangquan Coal Industry Group General Hospital, the newly founded medical group has an impressive range of facilities, they said.

It consists of one Grade-3A (top grade) hospital, four Grade-2 hospitals, four Grade-1 hospitals, five community medical service centers and 13 communications medical service stations, covering coal mines owned by Yangquan Coal Industry Group.

The medical group will found a board of directors.

This will formulate the group's regulation, establish a reasonable division of labor and a cooperation mechanism among medical institutions within the group.

It will clarify the functional positioning of medical institutions at different levels, strengthen overall coordination and promote quality medical resources to grassroots level and smooth internal referral.

At the same time, it will unify information platform management and realize resource sharing and coordinated development -- to provide higher-quality medical care for people.
