A New Year's choral concert themed on embracing the year 2020 was held in Yangquan city in Shanxi province on Dec 28, according to the organizers.

The concert -- organized by the Taiyuan Federation of Trade Unions, the Shanxi Choral Society and Yangquan Culture and Art School -- was the first of its kind in Shanxi province jointly conducted by two cities. 

Officials said it aimed to promote cultural exchanges and cultural and tourism integration between Taiyuan and Yangquan cities.

Critics said that four choirs from the two cities presented a perfect audiovisual feast for the audience.

In addition, choirs founded by Shanxi Choral Society, Yangquan Culture and Art School and the Taiyuan worker cultural palace are scheduled to perform at factories, collieries, communities and undeveloped counties in Jinzhong, Lyuliang, Changzhi and Yuncheng cities after the concert.
