All six national and provincial arterial highway entrances to Yangquan city established health checkpoints on Jan 29, as part of national efforts to halt the spread of the coronavirus. 

Each checkpoint is staffed by personnel from highway departments, traffic management departments, and health departments of district and county governments in Yangquan city. 

All vehicles entering Yangquan are stopped, with each occupant having their temperature and identity checked.

As of Jan 31, Yangquan has confirmed one case of the virus, with the patient currently reported to be in a stable condition in hospital.
