The National Sports Administration's sports management centers recently announced the roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Yangquan city having four of its athletes selected.

Among them, Zhao Nan will compete in the women's 25 meters pistol shooting event and Hu Yicheng will represent the city in the women's trampoline event. Additionally, Li Yuming is listed as a backup for the men's trampoline event and Zhao Yating is a reserve in the artistic gymnastics category.

The 2024 Paris Olympics, the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, will take place from July 26 to Aug 11 in Paris, France – featuring over 10,000 athletes from nearly 200 countries and regions.

In recent years, Yangquan has made significant efforts to integrate its sports into schools, promoting the deep integration of sports and education.

It's actively facilitated pathways for talented students, establishing school coaching positions and developing a comprehensive system for teaching, training, competitions and talent cultivation.

The effort is said to have nurtured a group of talented athletes, sending them to provincial and national teams for further training and contributing to China's sports development.

Moving forwards, plans are for Yangquan to further boost an interest in sports among young people by organizing a wide range of activities.

There are also plans to bolster the quality of school sports education – fostering a strong culture of fitness throughout the city and actively promoting high-quality development in the sports sector.
