Yangquan legislature's annual meeting commences

The fifth session of the 16th Yangquan People's Congress opened on Feb 25, meeting the legal quorum requirements with 242 out of 281 delegates in attendance.
Acting Mayor Ju Zhen delivered the government work report, which was divided into three sections: a review of the work in 2024, the work plan for 2025, and measures to improve governance efficiency.
Ju highlighted the city's significant economic and social development achievements over the past year. Key accomplishments included progress in industrial transformation, advancements in intelligent manufacturing, integrated urban-rural development, sustainable development, and improvements in residents' wellbeing.
Ju emphasized the importance of promoting high-quality development, furthering comprehensive reforms, expanding high-level openness, building a modern industrial system, and coordinating development and security in 2025.
Ju also announced that the government will implement 15 key wellbeing projects to enhance residents' happiness and quality of life and outlined various measures to improve government efficiency.
The congress reviewed the report on the implementation of Yangquan's 2024 national economic and social development plan and the draft plan for 2025.
