A shopping festival for imported goods – organized by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the China International Import Expo Bureau – opened in the city of Shanghai in East China on Aug 25.

The month-long festival includes 21 activities featuring imported goods from different countries.

These activities are being held in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, the Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub, the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center and on the Wine Exchange Shanghai online platform – among other local imported goods transactions service platforms.

A Syrian commodities and cultural month is being held in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone. Cultural and creative products from Syria's national museum, the National Museum of China and the Palace Museum are being exhibited and sold together – celebrating the trade of goods, cultural exchanges and the interaction of civilizations among countries.

The Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and the Japan External Trade Organization jointly launched a Japan goods and culture festival where consumers can taste delicious food, shop for imported goods from Japan and enjoy some fun activities.

In addition, the online Wine Exchange Shanghai platform will launch promotions for imported wines from France, Italy, Greece, Spain and Germany during the event.
