The Singapore Showcase opened on Nov 11 at the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District and will run for a month.
The event is organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Enterprise Singapore, aiming to maximize the overflow effects of the fifth China International Import Expo which concluded on Nov 10.
During the one-month showcase, more than 30 Singaporean brands will display a wide range of products and professional services related to food and beverage, nutrition and healthcare, cosmetics and skin care, furniture, fashion and accessories.
The brands include Singaporean time-honored brands like United Overseas Bank and Tiger Balm, emerging brands such as Krishop and Food Yo, as well as well-known brands such as BreadTalk, Camel Nuts and Ceradan.
The exhibition area features Singapore's iconic Merlion image and landmark buildings such as the Singapore Flyer and the Gardens by the Bay, which creates an authentic and immersive experience for visitors, according to a Singaporean official.
At the opening ceremony, the Singapore Enterprise Centre and the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center signed an agreement to further their cooperation.
A government-enterprise exchange event was also held after the opening ceremony to facilitate communication and cooperation between government departments and enterprises from Shanghai and Singapore.
