Huazhu Group's global headquarters park opened in the north area of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District on New Year's Day, marking a key step in the group's 18-year history.
"We will be able to cultivate a world-class enterprise in this world-class CBD in the future," said Jin Hui, CEO of Huazhu, adding that the group has prepared for this move for six to seven years.
Over the past three years, based on the advancement of mobile internet technologies, Huazhu has explored its own advantages through independent research and development and technological innovation, improved services and efficiency and promoted the digitalization of the hotel industry. For example, the group has launched the Easy Series services to shorten time from booking to check-out.
"We witness the economic recovery in the post-pandemic era and feel that the underlying resilience of China's entire economy is very strong. Our domestic business boomed during the Spring Festival holiday period and returned to 95 percent of the level of 2019," Jin said. The domestic tourism market has also shown a very strong momentum and China is stimulating consumption and boosting market confidence, he added.
Jin said that the current situation provides huge opportunities for enterprises and Huazhu should lead the entire industry and offer high-quality services, experiences and brands to meet the demands of consumers.
"I think 'big science and technology innovation', a new concept proposed by the Hongqiao CBD, is of great significance to the future development of Huazhu. We hope to seize the opportunities and enhance our leadership in technology ecology and talent," he said.
"We feel confident about becoming a world-class enterprise in the Hongqian CBD and look forward to working with the area to find win-win solutions," Jin said.
