The Shanghai International Center of Trina Solar, one of China's largest solar panel makers, started construction in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (Hongqiao CBD) on April 13.
The project consists of the company's international headquarters, global operation and management center, global smart energy innovation center, carbon neutralization business incubation and development center and global investment and financing center.
The project will use the company's signature products including high-efficiency crystalline silicon photovoltaic generation units and smart energy management systems, to build an office park that features intelligent, low carbon and ultra-low energy consumption.
"We chose to settle in Hongqiao CBD because the development strategies of Trina Solar and Shanghai are very similar," said Gao Jifan, chairman of the company.
Gao added that he believes the international metropolis and CBD will offer a broader space and better opportunities for photovoltaic companies, including Trina Solar.
Founded in 1997, Trina Solar's business operates in over 150 countries and regions. Its product shipment ranked second in the global photovoltaic industry in 2022.
