A delegation headed by Phuti Joyce Tsipa, consul-general of South Africa in Shanghai, visited the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center on July 20.

In April, the consul-general accepted an invitation to visit the exhibition booth of the city of Sarahbartmann at the sixth China International Import Expo, which is scheduled to take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from Nov 5 to 11.

She also expressed a willingness to recommend more South African companies to participate in the CIIE.

Shanghai-based Orient International (Holding) Co has enjoyed a good partnership with South Africa. According to Zhang Long, deputy general manager of the company's health technology arm, the company had helped South African bitter aloe enter the Chinese market.

During the visit, the consul-general also learned how to organize activities and promote offline and online trade cooperation at the Shanghai International Friendship Port.

The partnership between Orient International (Holding) Co and the Hongqiao import exhibition center is expected to bring more South African specialty products such as oranges, tea and beef to Chinese consumers and help more South African companies enter the Chinese market.
