The tracks of the tunnel section stretching from Panxiang Road Station to Xujing East Station of Shanghai Metro Line 2 West Extension were successfully connected recently.
The section from Panxiang Road Station to East Xujing Station measures a total length of 1,046 meters. The Metro Line 2 West Extension Project, which spans approximately 1.7 km, is entirely underground and has one station.
The construction of this project will not only support the further development of the Hongqiao central area and the Hongqiao International Central Business District, but also promote the coordinated development of various areas along the line, thereby improving the level of rail transit services in the region.
Additionally, it will effectively relieve traffic pressure at East Xujing Station during exhibition periods and provide more convenient services for the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
