Hongqiao Intl CBD unveils three-year action plan for Silk Road e-commerce

The Hongqiao International Central Business District (Hongqiao International CBD) has announced a comprehensive three-year action plan aimed at fostering the development of a complete Silk Road e-commerce supply chain.

The plan has set ambitious goals to significantly boost trade between the business district and partner countries along the Silk Road.

The primary objective of the plan is to establish a one-stop service model that facilitates the entry of high-quality specialty products and services from partner countries along the Silk Road into the Chinese market. This will be achieved through the creation of professional exhibitions and sales platforms dedicated to Silk Road e-commerce, national pavilions showcasing Silk Road E-commerce, and live-streaming economic demonstration spaces.

The plan also aims to attract and nurture leading enterprises and platforms capable of integrating the industrial chain and driving the growth of Silk Road e-commerce.

Furthermore, the plan will involve the building of a consumption-driven e-commerce ecosystem and a business environment that supports the development of Silk Road e-commerce. This will position the Hongqiao International CBD as a key gateway connecting the Yangtze River Delta urban cluster and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The plan also contains goals regarding the advancement of opening-up measures, leveraging the spillover effects of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), strengthening cooperation and exchanges in Silk Road e-commerce, and establishing a comprehensive service system. There are 15 specific tasks that would be implemented in these four areas.

Hongqiao Pinhui's CIIE goods collection, which has been operating for five years, has already brought together over 6,000 brands and more than 80,000 products from 108 countries and regions. These products include Russian wine, personal care products from South Korea, Serbian juice, and Indonesian bird's nest.

The Hongqiao International CBD aims to create a seamless and thriving Silk Road e-commerce supply chain, fostering international trade and strengthening economic ties between China and partner countries along the historic Silk Road.
