On March 20, Victor Nicolas, the Dominican consul general in Shanghai, accompanied by his team, embarked on a visit to the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center, also known as Hongqiao Pinhui.
Their tour encompassed several key areas, including China International Import Expo (CIIE) favorites hall, the live e-commerce bases, the Hongqiao international wine cellar, and the Hongqiao international coffee port, culminating in a productive discussion session.
A highlight of the visit was the consul general's presentation of Dominican coffee beans - products not yet available in the Chinese market - along with a detailed account of the brand's history and the unique attributes of its offerings.
Reflecting on the staggering number of 8,530 coffee shops in Shanghai, the consul general acknowledged the immense opportunities within the Chinese market.
He is keen to forge partnerships centered around coffee, aiming to familiarize the Chinese population with the rich flavors of Dominican coffee, rum, cocoa, and other signature products.
