Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport handled a total of 5,000 flights and welcomed 994,000 passengers during this month's National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7. This contributed to combined numbers from the city's airports, including Pudong and Hongqiao, of 16,000 flights and 2.62 million passengers over the holiday. Both the daily and single-day passenger volumes at Shanghai's airports reached new highs.
Prior to the holiday, a one-stop comprehensive service center for foreigners was launched at the T1 terminals of both Pudong and Hongqiao airports. Together with the previously opened center at Pudong's T2, foreign travelers can now enjoy round-the-clock, one-stop services such as entry service guides, WiFi device rentals, foreign currency exchange, and mobile payments at the three international arrival halls of the two airports.
Moreover, Hongqiao Airport, in collaboration with customs, immigration inspections, airlines, and other units, has launched seven service products centered around the full travel process for passengers.
