The Silk Road E-commerce Conference on Cooperation, Innovation and Development and the launching ceremony of 2024 National Silk Road E-commerce Selection Week were held together at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Nov 7 during the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE).
The conference aimed to leverage the CIIE and the pilot zone for Silk Road e-commerce cooperation in Shanghai to enhance the expo's spillover effects and facilitate market entry for participating enterprises through e-commerce.
The 2024 National Silk Road E-commerce Selection Week, which runs from Nov 7 to 13, features themed days for countries such as Chile, Thailand, Argentina, Australia, and Uzbekistan, and includes special events like the Southeast Asia Coffee Festival and the South American Wine Festival. Key participants include Hongqiao Pinhui and Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub.
Several high-level international cooperation projects were signed at the conference, including the "Silk Road E-commerce" Hongqiao International Coffee Harbor Cross-border Traceability Project and the "Silk Road E-commerce" China-Europe Railway (Shanghai) Cross-border E-commerce Cargo Transport Service.
The event also featured a Silk Road Ecological Zone with 40 exhibitors, including major e-commerce platforms and logistics companies, promoting supply-demand connections and enhancing development momentum.
This conference marks a significant step in international e-commerce cooperation, reinforcing China's commitment to open markets and digital economic development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
