Shangri-La Group officially launched two new hotels at the Hongqiao transportation hub on Oct 28 after a two-month trial period, offering more options for visitors and exhibitors attending the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE), scheduled from Nov 5 to 10 at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai.
The newly opened Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport and Traders Hongqiao Airport hotels are conveniently situated close to Terminal 2 of Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station. Guests can reach the CIIE venue in only 15 minutes by car and have easy access through public transportation.
Guests can quickly reach downtown Shanghai or travel to cities such as Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Nanjing within an hour, enhancing the convenience of both business and leisure trips.
"Our dual-branded presence at the Hongqiao hub is more than business expansion," said Shangri-La Group Chairman and CEO Kuok Hui Kwong at the opening, "We aim to create a gateway that connects the Yangtze River Delta region, serves the nation, and reaches the world."
"Our vision is to enrich the Hongqiao hub with diverse services, offering top venues for business events and world-class hospitality for exhibitions. We aim to improve the travel experience, making sure guests feel Shanghai's efficiency, quality, and warmth," Kwong said.
The Shangri-La Hongqiao Airport hotel provides a peaceful retreat with panoramic windows and soundproofing, offering views of aircraft and the city skyline. Guests can unwind in the heated pool and utilize the fitness amenities.
The hotel offers a modern take on Suzhou and Zhejiang cuisine, continuing the legacy of Shangri-La's renowned Jiangnan Wok Chinese cuisine brand.
The Traders Hongqiao Airport hotel focuses on both efficiency and comfort. It provides a fast self-check-in process and smart features like luggage and coffee robots, blending convenience with a personal touch.
