The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District has launched an action plan to develop a series of global supply chain management centers.
These centers use modern technology to optimize cross-border supply chain resources, ensuring smooth logistics, commerce, information, and financial flows. They can be either internal departments or independent entities within enterprises, or businesses offering integrated global supply chain services.
The centers are categorized into two types: production-oriented and service-oriented. Production-oriented centers, exemplified by industry giants like Bosch and Unilever, integrate supply chain resources to enhance value and efficiency. Service-oriented centers, such as ZKH Industrial Supply and YTO Express, provide specialized services like procurement and inventory management.
With excellent transportation links, a supportive trade environment, and strong industrial backing, Hongqiao is well-suited to host such centers.
The plan, developed through extensive research and business consultations, aims to strengthen global supply chain management, promote rational cross-border industrial layouts, and enhance traders' global supply chain capabilities, aligning with high-standard international trade rules.
Cluster development is encouraged, which will help to foster collaboration and innovation across Hongqiao. Efforts will be made to integrate into global supply chain networks by enhancing international services and adopting global standards.
Focusing on digital transformation, financial innovation, and talent development, Hongqiao also plans to leverage advanced technologies like AI and blockchain to modernize supply chains and attract more skilled professionals.
