Jiange county is located in Guangyuan city, Sichuan province. It is on the northern edge of the Sichuan Basin and at the junction of Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces. The city is reputed as the Golden Triangle of North Sichuan and the Shu Path Pearl.

Jiange, with an area of 3,204 square kilometers, governs 27 towns and 30 townships. It had a registered population of 657,700 at the end of 2017. In the same year, the GDP reached 11.02 billion yuan, and per capita GDP reached 22,534 yuan. 

Jiange county is a national culturally advanced county, a national health county, a pilot county (district) of the national intellectual property strong county project, a famous historical and cultural county in Sichuan province, a model county in Sichuan province for environmental protection, and an advanced county in Sichuan province for county economic development. In February 2020, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government removed Jiange county from the list of poverty-stricken counties.
