Guangyuan in Southwest China's Sichuan province is set to improve 36 public facilities with an estimated total investment of 400 million yuan ($61.5 million).

The newly built two-way four-lane road under the Laoyingzui Bridge opened on April 12.

The three-lane passenger picking-up road in front of the Guangyuan Railway Station has recently added two pedestrian crossings. In addition, workers paved asphalt anew for the170-meter-long and 12-meter-wide way.

Town-makers also repaired the Wanyuan Road, giving the construction which has been built for more than 10 years a completely new look.

According to the task list, the city will refurbish the lighting facilities in downtown areas, renovate lamps and cables of wetland park and squares, and adorn the expressway entrances with cultural landscape lights.

Bridge and tunnel maintenance, furniture upgrading and drainage reconstruction will also be put on the agenda, said Gao Qiang, chairman of the Guangyuan Construction Trade Union.
