Zhaohua ancient town celebrate China Tourism Day
Zhaohua ancient town in Southwest China's Sichuan province, launched a flurry of activities to mark China Tourism Day on May 19. Limited-edition discount tickets were available for tourism, plus cultural and scenic experiences.

A 3D light and shadow show gave tourists an immersive experience when presented outdoors.
"Walking on the street in ancient costume and being here in the old building give me the feeling of going back in time," said a tourist surnamed You.

In addition, visitors were able to appreciate an upgraded version of the live-action interactive drama The Jiameng History. They participated in the show by acting as their favorite characters.
"We have recreated the scenery of Zhaohua's famous ferry in the ancient times -- thousands of people crowding along the shore with lights blazing at night," said Han Ke, deputy director of the show.
A variety of intangible cultural heritage pieces such as painted sculptures, sugar paintings and embroidery were on display during the activity.
