The Zengjia Mountain Skiing Resort in Southwest China inked an agreement with Zhongwang (Beijing) Chinese Cultural Development Co on May 20 to build a snowboard competition venue.

Located in Chaotian district, Guangyuan, Sichuan province, the project is designed to have a tourist reception center, a primary and a high-class ski slope. It is expected to receive a maximum of 15,000 visitors per day. 

According to the cooperative deal, the provincial-level comprehensive skiing venue is scheduled to be put in use by the end of this year.

The new project will make Zengjia Mountain reachable by enthusiasts of ice and snow sports all around the year. The existing projects will be open to the public for only two months.

The past years have witnessed a robust development of ice and snow sports in Chaotian. Statistics show that the district received 18.72 million visits and made tourism-driven revenue of about 1.03 billion yuan ($153.59 million) in the winter of 2021.
