Dragon Boat holiday boosts Guangyuan tourism

The A-level tourist attractions in Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province, received over 297,000 tourists during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, with the ticket proceeds reaching 1.52 million yuan ($227,400).

As many as 55 online and 79 offline cultural tourism promotion activities and services have been rolled out during the holiday.

Scenic areas, including Jianmen Pass, Zengjia Mountain, Tangjia River, and Pingle Temple, launched interactive activities and preferential policies to promote tourism. Travel tips, such as weather, traffic and accommodation information were available in service areas.

The experience tour of revolutionary areas was a highlight. The city's revolutionary attractions received over 38,000 tourists during the holiday generating ticket revenue of about 475,000 yuan.

In addition, activities, such as night camping, car camping and rural activity camping, are getting popular among young tourists.

To ensure the holiday was stable and orderly, Guangyuan carried out inspections on cultural tourism markets and related businesses.
