A mass square dance event of Sichuan province kicked off on June 22. Fifteen teams from across the province gathered at Cangxi county in Guangyuan city, showing their unique moves on the dance floor.

The Team of Guangyuan's Chaotian District premiered an original dance that shows graceful moves with local Maliu embroidery to promote the time-honored craft.

Using lantern elements is a highlight of the Team of Luzhou City. Twenty-eight actors amused the audience with their songs and dances which incorporated styles of Gulin Festive Lantern program, a national intangible cultural heritage. This performance won most popular award through online voting.

The Cangxi Team, host of the event, gave a performance featuring farmers' joy of picking fruits in the autumn season. It won fourth place at a competition last year.

"We will take this event as an opportunity to develop more diverse cultural and tourism products, including various art performances and leisure culture," said an official of department of culture and tourism of the province.
