A tea culture tourism festival was held in Wangcang county, Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province, from Aug 26 to 27.

The event, featuring tea culture and the tea industry in Wangcang, gathered many tea lovers and enterprise representatives.

In the exhibition space, seven enterprises prepared dozens of high-quality teas and brewed them to attract tea drinkers. Micang mountain tea with a long-lasting nutty fragrance, Mumen yellow tea with a mellow taste, and refreshing Gaoyang flat-leaf tea were all popular among the visitors.

Twelve leisure activities, including tea drinking, incense burning and playing the guqin, were carried out in a space decorated with bamboo, pine and orchids, which aimed to reproduce the elegant lifestyle of ancient people.

Wangcang is a location at which tea has been richly cultivated for a long time and is home to the largest yellow tea planting base in China. In 2021, the county's tea output reached 7,525 tons, and the comprehensive output value of the tea industry was 3.84 billion yuan ($555.39 million).

Accordingly, the county will continue to carry out tea recommendation affairs andtea-making skill competitions, and plans to build a tea culture park to expand the visibility and influence of its homegrown tea brands and boost the county’s economy.
