The city is home to 143 food and beverage enterprises above designated size. It is ramping up efforts to develop a green food and beverage base in western China, in addition to a green product supply base in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, and a high-quality health care destination.

"We use an agriculture model based on orders, which can effectively ensure the interests of farmers and encourage them to plant vegetables." Wang Weilong, head of a local vegetable processing company. The company has five of the most advanced kimchi self-control production lines and one other food production line, which can process 20,000 tons of kimchi and 5,000 tons of other foods throughout the year, he added.

A number of the city's food and beverage production enterprises have extended their industrial chains, ranging from vegetable planting bases, production factories to sales channels. This move has helped reduce production costs and increased employment for local people.

In 2022, the food and beverage industry has 44 projects, including those that have been completed, have recently started or are under construction.

The city has vowed to increase efforts in the processing of cash crops, including tea, kiwifruit, walnuts, authentic Chinese medicinal ingredients, and mountain delicacies. It will also extend its industrial chains, strengthen the processing of grain and oil, soft drinks, meat, feed and other specialty agricultural products.

Small and medium-sized enterprises, backbone enterprises, and large-scale enterprises in the food and beverage industry will be taken into full consideration based on their own characteristics.
