The 79.5-meters-high main pier of the Qiaohe Grand Bridge was capped on Oct 9.

The project is designed as a double bridge, with a length of 636 meters for the left line and 637 meters for the right line. Both lines have 19 spans and four lanes.

The bridge, undertaken by the China Railway 15th Bureau Group Co, is a part of the Cangxi-Bazhong Expressway.

The expressway starts in Guangyuan’s Cangxi county, and ends at Bazhong’s Bazhou district, stretching a total of 78 kilometers.

The whole construction is planned to be completed by December 2023. It will be connected to the Chengdu-Mianyang Expressway and the Mianyang-Cangxi Expressway to better serve the Chengdu plain economic zone and the northeast Sichuan economic zone.
