Guangyuan International Railway Port in Guangyuan, a city in Southwest China's Sichuan province, witnessed the launch of the first China-Europe freight train to Moscow, Russia, at around 6pm on November 29.

The cargo train carried 50 containers of home appliances, electronic products and daily use items from over 20 enterprises in Guangyuan and neighboring areas, at a value of 22 million yuan (about $3.12 million).

The freight train is expected to arrive in Vorsino of Moscow after 12 days.

It was the third cargo train to leave from Guangyuan to Europe since the inauguration of the China-Europe freight train service in the city in August, with a total of 3,500 tons of goods worth 46 million yuan having been transported to European clients.

The launch of the China-Europe freight train service has become an important measure for Guangyuan International Railway Port to channel its railway resources into economic strength amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
