Guangyuan, in Southwest China's Sichuan province, saw a turnover of 32 million yuan ($4.53 million) on Nov 25, when 17 key purchasers and 27 suppliers signed agreements at a press conference for the  2022 government procurement of agricultural and sideline products produced in poverty alleviation areas.

Thanks to the one-stop online sales platform, canteens and labor unions of governments at all levels have access to high-quality agricultural products, and planting areas are seeing a rise in incomes, said Deng Xiaoyan, a delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and person in charge of the Guangyuan Gengxin Agriculture Co.

Deng's company sells 21 products on the platform, including grain, oil, mountain delicacies, honey, and bacon. This year, the company's sales amount on the platform exceeded 13 million yuan.

Since being put into use on Jan 1, 2020, the platform has continued to offer online services, including display, transactions, logistics tracking, and product traceability, connecting agricultural products from the country's 832 poverty-stricken counties with government purchasing channels.

Known as the "Poverty Alleviation 832 Platform", it has played an active role in helping poverty-stricken areas expand their sales of agricultural and sideline products, and helped increase the income of people in these areas.

Up to now, a total of 389 local suppliers in Guangyuan have posted 21,000 products (species) on the platform, with both the number of suppliers and the number of products of the city on the platform ranking first in Sichuan province. The city's cumulative sales revenue on the platform reached 770 million yuan, and the platform also boosted its total sales of agricultural and sideline products to exceed 1.8 billion yuan.
