A tourism infrastructure construction project, adjacent to Jianmen Pass, a National 5A-level tourist attraction in Jiange county, Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province, is currently under construction.

"As of now, the civil works of the first phase of the project and 70 percent of the aesthetics have been completed. The second phase is advancing in an orderly manner. The project is expected to be put into operation during May Day next year," said the person in charge of the construction.

The project covers an area of three hectares, with a total construction area of 15,817 square meters and an investment of 150 million yuan ($21.25 million). It includes ancient town renovations, a parking lot, a tourism and catering service center, a leisure area, a viewing platform, ancient style dwellings, roads and auxiliary facilities.

Upon completion, the project will improve the tourism supporting infrastructure for the Jianmen Pass scenic area to enhance its reception capacity of tourists. It will also provide tourists with catering, accommodation and entertainment services and create a better travel experience for tourists.

The project is expected to drive the development of related industries in the surrounding areas, and help improve the comprehensive economic strength of the region.
