A week-long photography & calligraphy and painting exhibition on Jianmen Pass, a national 4A level scenic spot in Guangyuan, Sichuan province, was held in Beijing on Feb 22.

Some of the 173 works on display were created by well-known domestic artists who were invited by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and its provincial-level subsidiary to visit Jianmen Pass last July.

The natural and cultural treasure has a long history, and originated in the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC). It is by far the first and best-preserved man-made ancient post road with the longest service life in China.

Presented through ink, light and shade, visitors are expected to enjoy the majestic beauty of the ancient road and feel the wisdom and courage of our Chinese ancestors.
