Guangyuan, a city of Southwest China's Sichuan province, held a project-signing ceremony for investment promotion and economic cooperation on the sidelines of the 19th Western China International Fair in Chengdu on June 28.

The ceremony gathered over 130 business executives and representatives of industrial chambers. They inked 50 deals worth 42.98 billion yuan ($5.93 billion), covering new aluminum and silicon materials, food & beverage, and cultural tourism. Of the total, 31 deals were struck for manufacturing projects, worth 20 billion yuan.

The Western China International Fair has promoted the development and opening-up of western China since it was launched in 2000. It has since become an important channel for the region to attract investment, deepen economic and trade cooperation beyond the region, and advance diplomatic affairs.
