"Guangyuan has green mountains and clean waters, making it an ecologically livable place. It has embarked on a path of green development that is environmentally friendly and beneficial to the people.”

Zhu Shanzhong, ambassador of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), said these words in his speech at the Dashudao Cultural Tourism Festival which opened in Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province on Nov 4.

According to him, the UNWTO will help promote the local tourism resources, especially the high-quality products.

During the opening ceremony, Guangyuan's Chaotian district was awarded the pilot for its outdoor sports industry, forest health resort and homestay destination in the province.

Chaotian district is home to Zengjia mountain, which is known for its rich karst forest resources. The forest coverage there has surpassed 74 percent.
