Guangyuan in Sichuan province plans to build four pocket parks, according to the municipal housing and urban-rural development authority.

Covering a construction area of approximately 13,000 square meters, the parks will be completed by the end of this year.

The completed pocket parks will include parking areas, square stage areas, resting areas under trees, all-age activity areas and fitness trails, an official surnamed Zhang introduced.

Pocket parks are small gardens and green areas on street corners, in industrial zones and between apartment complexes. The four parks are expected to not only meet the daily needs of the community but to also serve as a cultural showcase, providing a great place for residents to take a leisurely walk and enjoy themselves.
