The 2024 China (Guangyuan) Green Aluminum Industry Development Conference took place from May 9 to 11 in Guangyuan, of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

This event aimed to drive the implementation of several significant projects, with the focus on advancing the high-quality development of the aluminum-based new material industry.

During the conference, a comprehensive set of data was presented to illustrate the current development status of Guangyuan's aluminum-based new materials industry.

The city currently has an electrolytic aluminum production capacity of 615,000 tons, a secondary aluminum production capacity of 1.6 million tons, and an aluminum processing capacity exceeding 2 million tons. Over the past three years, the output value has seen a consistent increase of more than 30 percent.

In the first quarter of 2024 alone, the total output value of the city's aluminum core material industry surged by 53 percent compared with the previous year.

A high-standard aluminum industrial park spanning over 1,300 hectares has been built, equipped with supporting projects and service facilities to stimulate the integration of industry and city.

Guangyuan has attracted 75 aluminum-based new material industry enterprises, and the number is expected to surpass 100 by the year's end.

In additional, two provincial-level and nine municipal-level innovation platforms have been established. By 2025, the goal is to establish over 15 technological innovation platforms in the aluminum industry.

Since the launch of the Western China (Guangyuan) Aluminum Ingot Trade Center, on April 27, 2023, the trade volume has exceeded 8 billion yuan ($1.1 billion), effectively addressing the issue of insufficient primary aluminum resources.
