Recent Dragon Boat Festival sees increase in cultural and rural trips

During Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which concluded on June 10, about 417,300 trips were made to A-level tourist attractions in Guangyuan, in Southwest China's Sichuan province.

The trips generated ticket revenue of 3.79 million yuan ($522,235), exceeding last year's figures.

Throughout the holiday, various parts of the city hosted a series of festive activities. Live performance held in Jianmen Pass Scenic Area and Cuiyun Corridor Scenic Area animated the crowd, inspiring appreciation for the charm of China's rich traditional culture.

At the municipal museum, more than 1,000 people engaged in activities such as Chinese knot-making and seal stamp collecting. The municipal art museum prepared a paper-cutting art experience for children, and the municipal cultural center and the municipal library held online exhibitions featuring calligraphy and painting and "Dragon Boat Festival Stories in Stamps."

During the holiday, rural and suburban tourism remained highly popular.

In Qingchuan county, visitors flocked to the Tangjiahe Nature Park to observe wild animals. In Lizhou district, Zhuzixi Wetland Park offered self-service barbecues or outdoor picnics, attracting many tourists. Wangcang county became a favored spot for parent-child trips because of the local bayberry and blueberry picking activities.

Additionally, this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday coincided with Cultural and Natural Heritage Day on June 8.

Intangible cultural heritage events were held in Zhaohua Ancient Town, showcasing about 20 types of time-honored food and cultural and creative products. These events drew large crowds and generated over 1.5 million yuan in sales.

Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
