Service outsourcing in Xiamen -- September tally

Xiamen's service outsourcing business grew swiftly through the first three quarters of 2015.

In total, contracts worth $968 million were signed in off-shore service outsourcing during the period and contracts worth $889 million were implemented, rising 21.5 percent and 30.9 percent respectively.

Favorable policies and industrial incubators contributed to the growth.

National funding worth 15 million yuan went to Xiamen to support the city's service outsourcing and technology exporting industries. A total of 12 million yuan of city-level funding was used to facilitate the service outsourcing sector. A total of 26 enterprises were granted income tax remission, and a further 20 enterprises enjoyed added-value tax exemption in regards to more than 100 off-shore service outsourcing deals.

Xiamen's first service outsourcing industrial park has been established at the bonded port of Haicang. Covering 200,000 square meters, the park offers preferential policies to companies in cross-border e-commerce, supply chain management, and Internet technology. It signed contracts with a first group of 12 enterprises on Sept 19, 2014.

The national cross-Straits youth innovation base was unveiled at the Xiamen free trade area on June 16. It focuses on growing small and medium-sized innovative enterprises from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. The base plans to introduce companies in entertainment, cultural industry, e-commerce, e-agriculture, and bio-pharmacy.
