Sales volume of the city's eight supermarkets and five e-commerce companies increased 5.3 percent and 59.41 percent year-on-year to 39.46 million yuan and 83.04 million yuan, respectively, due to people's growing purchasing demands, supportive policies and subsidies offered by the government during the holiday.
The sales in department stores, on the contrary, decreased 7.14 percent year-on-year to 29.72 million yuan due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Statistics for the city's four major catering service companies showed that their total revenue reached 2.78 billion yuan, up 24.34 percent year-on-year, which resulted from the public's desire to gather and eat out during the holiday.
