Located at the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula, Singapore is a vital place for sea transportation. As a country that supports the Belt and Road Initiative, Singapore is an established hub for Chinese investment.

Singapore International Port Group has invested in constructing Tianjin Port Pacific and Alliance International Terminal.  

Now, Singapore International Port Group is expanding cooperation with Tianjin Port in the integration of terminal resources and the construction of smart ports.

Singapore is not only a world renowned port city, but also known as the world garden city with green coverage rate over 50 percent. Yang Mingzhong, the garden designer of the garden city, is also responsible for the overall gardening design of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.

During the construction of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, Singapore's team of design experts encountered a problem – the choice of plants. They were familiar with the tropical plants which need to be replaced in Tianjin. After several rounds of communication with Chinese garden designers, a new ecological city with a greening rate of over 40 percent was built in Tianjin. Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City has also launched pilot projects in the use of water resources.

Singapore's Deputy Permanent Secretary Zheng Jinbao said that Singaporeans always attach great importance to environmental protection.  The experience gained in the construction of the eco-city from cooperation with China can also be applied to other parts of the world, to join together in improving the environment.

The Belt and Road Initiative provides Asian countries with more chances to cooperate and bring benefits to the people of the world. China and Singapore will deepen China-Singapore all-round partnership, open up more space for Singapore's development, and inject more positive energy into regional peace and prosperity.
