The Century Clock in Hedong district, Tianjin, struck 12:00 on Jan 25, heralding the commencement of four exquisite cultural and tourism routes and six boutique business and tourism activities for the New Year.

The four cultural and tourism routes are dedicated to shopping, historical and cultural spots, music and art appreciation, and intangible cultural heritage and folk custom tours.

The six boutique business and tourism activities included the time-honored brands market, spring temple fair, urban free cycling, Chinese New Year lion dance, lantern festival, and intangible cultural heritage market for New Year goods.

During the event, the cultural and tourism bureau of Hedong distributed themed postcards featuring Hedong's scenery to passing residents and tourists.

They also conducted a cultural heritage blind box gift lottery with cultural characteristics. "I live nearby, and today's Century Clock looks particularly shiny," said 68-year-old resident Qi Lin from Dawangzhuang street, who won a gift box featuring the intangible cultural heritage of Tianjin-style hook weaving for the Year of the Dragon. "There have been significant changes in Hedong district. The business along the Haihe River is both unique and cultural. We welcome everyone to tour Hedong,”she added.

Hedong released a short video, inviting netizens to tour Haihe River starting from the Century Clock. Through a variety of colorful activities, the district aims to provide diverse leisure and consumption experience for the general public.
