Tianjin Vessel Traffic Service Center serves as information center of Tianjin port, directing when ships enter and leave the port.

Officially put into use in 1997, the scope of administration and service of Tianjin Vessel Traffic Service Center is the water area covered a cruising radius of 20 nautical miles.

In this area, the operators mainly use radar and Automatic Identification System (AIS) to verify the identity of the vessel, communicating through VHF, as well as arranging and executing sailing plans for the vessels.

The VTS is always busy all day with its operators are working hard to ensure the safety of peoples' lives and property, reduce the waiting time of vessels and minimize the risks of the voyage on the sea, contributing to the economic development of China.

Tianjin Port is the largest artificial deep-water port in the world. It maintains trade relations with more than 180 countries and regions in the world and plays an important role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
